Ann Levick was listed in 1818 as a horn, haft, and scale presser in Pond Street. In the 1820s, she was also an agent for Hoddinott & Everitt, brass founders, of Birmingham. In 1836, Mrs Levick announced her retirement as a button, nail, and clasp manufacturer (Sheffield Independent, 12 March 1836). In the Census (1841), Ann Levick was enumerated as ‘independent’ (retired) and aged 60. Her links with other Levicks in Pond Street is unknown. However, The Sheffield Independent, 13 September, 1842, carried an obituary for Ann Levick, who had died at an ‘advanced aged’. She had been a member of the Wesleyans for 45 years and was the widow of George Levick. The latter was possibly the horn button and mould maker, and scale and haft presser, who had been active in Hollis Croft in 1811.
