Joseph Westby (1854-1929) was the son of William, a manager and then partner at Brookes & Crookes. Joseph’s brother was John Westby. Joseph was apprenticed at his father’s factory. He was listed as a maker of knives in his own right at Atlantic Works between 1876 and 1888. Westby partnered Charles Swift Levic at Congo Works, Pinfold Street/Trippet Lane.
