John Gill
John Gill (c.1824-1898) was born at Thorne, Yorkshire. Little is known about his early life, though by 1851 he was living at Ebenezer Street and working as a scissorsmith. In the following year, he was part of the scissors manufacturer Newbould, Owen & Gill at Allen Street. His partners were George Newbould and Alfred Owen.
