In late 1896, this firm occupied Lion Works, Eyre Street, after Wm. Rodgers & Co. The owner was Thomas Charles Wilson (born in 1870 at Carlton in Lindrick, Nottinghamshire), who advertised Sheffield plate and cutlery (including teapots) in London newspapers. In 1901, he was a pawnbroker, living in Granville Street, who operated a cutlery and electro-plate works in Rockingham Lane. He launched a watch company, which was soon mired in debts and legal actions (Sheffield Daily Telegraph, 19 August 1904). By 1911, Wilson had moved to Doncaster as a draper’s manager.
