Richard Staniland may have been the brother of John Staniland, who was granted his Freedom in 1757. His subsequent life is difficult to trace with certainty, but he may have been the razor maker of that name who was listed in 1787 in Burgess Street (using the trade mark ‘RICH’, with crown and diamond). He may also have been the Richard Staniland, cutler, Lambert Street, who was buried in St Peter & St Paul churchyard on 23 January 1814, aged 71.
