This enterprise was listed in 1837 as a manufacturer of pen, pocket, and table knives in Hereford Street.  The partners were William Ryalls and Frederick Heathcote – both listed previously as cutlers in that street.  In the Census (1841), William was enumerated in Hereford Street as a 50-year-old razor manufacturer; Thomas Heathcote (aged 40) and Frederick Heathcote (35) were razor makers at the same address.  Ryalls & Heathcote’s address was later Furnival Lane, with the firm specialising in spring knives, scissors, and razors.  The partners were William Ryalls and George Heathcote, who lived in 1862 at the works address, 1 New George Street.  The firm had ceased trading by 1868, though George Heathcote was listed for the last time as a razor manufacturer in New George Street.
