This electro-plating firm was established in 2009 by Peter Ledger (b.1962). He started in the cutlery industry in 1978 and acquired an extensive knowledge of silver plating on metals such as copper, brass, nickel-silver, and stainless steel. At Peter’s workshop inside the old Portland Works of R. F. Mosley, one can still see the same technique of electro-plating – suspending articles such as spoons and forks in tanks of cyanide, so that an electric current can deposit silver – that was used in Mosley’s day. PML plates cutlery for well-known firms, such as Chimo, Oneida / Viners, and Arthur Price.
