This cutlery manufacturer was apparently founded after the Second World war. In 1948, Frank Nicholson & Son was listed at 70 Bowdon Street. The address sometimes appeared as Nikko Works – a name that Nicholson’s etched on its cutlery. It made (or marketed) stainless table knives and carving sets. It continued to trade into the 1960s. In 1968, Frank Nicholson & Son was listed at Bowdon Street; and F. Nicholson & Son at Fitzwilliam Street (an adjacent road). No biographical details of the partners have so far been traced.
