From information we have received, we understand this knife would have been sold by Gordon Jenkins in his fancy goods shops and markets in Sheffield, Lincoln, Derbyshire, and West Yorkshire. The maker is not certain however Gordon did trade with Surmanco on Washington Street.
Gordon was the son of Walter Gordon Jenkins and Lily, his wife (nee Green). Walter also sold cutlery, which would have been stamped "W. Jenkins".
As an ivory and stag handle turner, he would have bought in the blank blades and added his own handles.
Information kindly supplied by John Jenkins, son of Gordon.
