Apparently established after the Second World War, by 1948 Charles Havenhand was based at Denmark Works, Burgess Street. By 1961, Havenhand’s was a limited company at Victoria Works, Victoria Street. The firm manufactured (or marketed) stainless table cutlery, and electro-plated forks and spoons. Havenhand’s was wound up in 1970, when the registered address was Rutland Road. According to Herbert Housley (2011)1, Charlie was ‘quite a character, sometimes known as the Squire of Worksop’. Havenhand owned the mark of Richard Groves, until he sold it to Housley.
