This branch of the Dewsnap family manufactured razors. In 1787, Francis Dewsnap was listed as razor maker in the Wicker, using the trade mark ‘FARA’. Presumably, he had died by 1797, since in that year Hannah Dewsnap appeared as a razor manufacturer in the Wicker (trade mark ‘FAROH’). Hannah – perhaps Charles’s widow – was last listed in 1817. In 1822, Charles Dewsnap (a son?) was making razors in the Wicker. Charles Dewsnap, razor manufacturer – presumably the same cutler – was listed in 1825 and 1828, but not thereafter.
