Towards the end of the 1780s, James Sharrow, Joseph Colley, and John Linley were partners as merchants and manufacturers of cutlery wares. This was dissolved by 1790.
Three years later, James Sharrow and Joseph Colley joined John Gillot and Samuel Hallam in registering a silver mark from Eyre Street. In 1797, Sharrow, Colley & Co (using the mark ‘S C & Co’) was listed in Eyre Street as a merchant and table knife manufacturer (particularly silver-hafted knives). The enterprise disappeared after that date.
