This cutlery business was listed in a Sheffield directory (apparently for the first time) in 1951. The address was 115 Young Street. This was an obscure thoroughfare, near The Moor, which meant that Bowdon Cutlery operated from an office and not a factory. It remained listed until 1963, but then disappeared. No information is available on the owners. By 1957, Bowdon’s shared the address with R. & A. Londen Ltd, a fancy goods repository, which later advertised stainless safety razor blades. No information has been found yet on that firm, either.
