Oliver & Bower was a cutler and silversmith. It was apparently founded in about 1928 as Oliver & Bensley Ltd at 25 Howard Street.
By 1930, Oliver & Bower Ltd was listed in a Sheffield directory at the same address. No details have been located yet on the partners. By the end of the 1930s, the firm had an Arundel Street address; and an office at 57 Holborn Viaduct, London.
It appeared in Sheffield directories at Arundel Street until the early 1950s, but by 1957 was no longer listed. However, Oliver & Bower Ltd continued to trade in London. It registered silver marks and, besides stainless cutlery and canteens, also marketed fancy silverware (such as napkin rings, wine bottle holders, and teapots). It apparently survived as a brand until the early 1990s.
