George Henry Hall was born in Sheffield in about 1821. In the Census (1851), he was enumerated as a table knife hafter, living in Forge Lane with his wife, Sarah. In 1861, he advertised table cutlery, pocket knives, and children’s knives and forks from Bailey Street. In 1868, his works address was Holly Street and he lived in Pitt Street. George Henry Hall, ‘children’s knife manufacturer’, died on 29 August 1883, aged 62. He was buried in an unconsecrated grave in City Road Cemetery.
