George Rawlins (c1774-1837) was best known as a scissors manufacturer, though he also traded in pen, pocket, and table knives, and was a merchant and cutlery dealer. He was in partnership with John Bagshaw (but this was dissolved in 1820). He was next based in Rockingham Street/Lane after 1822. He died on 6 January 1837, aged 63. His fulsome obituary described him as a Christian, who was universally esteemed.
