William Arthur Witheford (1863-1952) was born in Sheffield, the son of John Witheford – a British plate spoon and fork filer – and his wife, Eliza. They lived in Oak Street. William, too, became a spoon and fork filer, working on his ‘own account’ by 1901. He was listed in directories as an electro-plate and cutlery manufacturer between 1909 and the early 1940s in Court 5, Brittain Street.
