Henry Rock
In 1798, Henry Rock registered a silver mark (‘H.R’) as a plate worker at Broad Lane. Almost nothing is known about his background. However, in the following year he registered the same silver mark with a partner (Henry Hewitt) from Norfolk Street. Another partner, Thomas Postlethwaite, was recruited. But in 1804, the enterprise was bankrupt. Henry Rock’s subsequent life is untraced.
