Henry Harrison was born in Birmingham in about 1847. By 1871, he was lodging in Sheffield as a metal smith. In 1873, he launched Harrison & Hancock, Atwell Works, Pond Hill with William Charles Hancock. This was dissolved in the following year. Harrison continued alone, until the firm’s bankruptcy in 1881. Harrison’s last address was Atwell Works, Potter Street, and he had debts of £805, against assets of £139. His later career has not been traced, but he was still working as a white metal spinner in 1901. William C. Hancock, Barber Road, died on 18 August 1913, aged 70, and was buried in an unconsecrated grave in the General Cemetery. Harrison’s trade mark was a hand and the letters ‘HH’.
