This silver plater was listed in 1825 in Silver Street. The partners were John Ashforth, Joseph Cutts, and Thomas Anderton, who registered a silver mark in June 1825. They advertised in the directory. John Hartshorn became involved, though Cutts withdrew in November 1825. Ashforth and Hartshorn registered a silver mark in February 1826. By October, Ashforth, [Richard] Creswick & Co had registered at the Sheffield Assay Office (though no mark was recorded). In 1828, the last directory listing was Ashforth, Creswick & Hartshorn, silver platers, Silver Street. This partnership, which also included Henry Woolhouse, ended in 1829. Ashforth, Creswick, and Cutts apparently continued to work individually as silversmiths.
