This enterprise advertised its ‘American & Home Pen and Pocket Knives’ in the directory of 1856. It was based in Radford Street and the partners were Richard Bradbury and Andrew Wastinage (a spring-knife hafter). The partnership was short-lived and by 1861 Bradbury was listed alone as a spring knife maker in Spring Lane. That was the last listing for Bradbury; and by 1868 Andrew Wastinage was a spring knife manufacturer in Bolsover Street, with a residence in Westfield Terrace. His career as a manufacturer appears to have been brief and his subsequent working life is unknown. He died on 14 May 1883, aged 54, and was described in the General Cemetery register as a ‘manager’, Sutton Street.
