British Table Requisites Ltd was registered as a private limited company in 1920, with a capital of £3,000. It took over the business of J. A. Wood & Co, which was a manufacturer and dealer in Sheffield table and general cutlery, silver, electro, and other plate. Its address was 83 Headford Street. The subscribers were J. A. Wood, 125 Richards Road (manager); and J. H. Freeborough, 25 Figtree Lane (accountant). Advertisements featured its ‘NEVASTAIN’ table knives with xylonite handles (Derbyshire Advertiser, 12 June 1920). BTR was listed in the Sheffield directory in 1922, but not in 1925 and in 1928 was struck off the register.
