Joe Bright (c.1822-1898) was the son of John Hadfield Bright, a silver-plater of Sheaf Gardens, and his wife, Sarah. J.H. Bright died on 18 August 1860, aged about 82, leaving under £300. Joe became a fluter and worked as manager for 25 years at Henry Wilkinson & Co. He married Mary née Bawer (d. 2 January 1858), the only daughter of a High Street wine merchant. In 1876, Bright advertised from Livingstone Works, Holly Street, as a manufacturer of pearl and ivory dessert knives and fish eaters. He was in business until the 1880s, but in the Census (1891) was a ‘cutlery manager’. Joe Bright, of St Barnabas Road, died on 7 March 1898, aged 76, leaving £404.
