Henry Hawksworth was listed at 80 Milton Street as manufacturing table knives in White's Directory of Sheffield 1919-20.
We believe that this refers to Henry Hawksworth born in 1845 to Joseph Hawksworth a table knife cutler, and his wife Sarah.
White’s directory of 1901 lists Henry as a cutlery manufacturer at 56 Vincent Road (a domestic dwelling) but the 1905 edition lists him as a table and carving knife manufacturer at 80 Milton Street. This is the address of Milton Works (later Beehive Works) which at that time were the premises of Atkinson Brothers Ltd, cutlery manufacturers. He is still listed as a cutlery manufacturer at 80 Milton Street in the 1919 edition of White’s directory.
In the 1939 census he recorded his occupation as “Table knife cutlery manufacturer (Own account) but by then he was in the Nether Edge Hospital. He died on the 27th November 1939 aged 82.
