Thomas Smith
This ‘common’ scissors maker was listed in the Sheffield directory of 1797 at Radford Street. His trade mark was ‘CRAPE’. He apparently went into partnership with John Brown, as a scissors maker, but this was dissolved in 1801. John Brown signed with his mark; Smith intended to continue to trade. However, Thomas Smith was not listed in the next Sheffield directory in 1811 and his later life is unknown. ....
