Ann Register & Son
This scissors maker advertised in 1883 (claiming establishment in 1844). ‘Ann’ was Ann Jane Register (1846-1925), who was the sister of Henry Biggin Register. In 1871, she had married Henry Westnedge, a scissors borer from Rotherham. Two years later, Henry disowned his wife’s debts (Sheffield Daily Telegraph, 18 February 1873); and they separated.
