John Newbould & Company
John Newbould was born in Sheffield on 27 July 1812, the son of William, a cutler, and his wife, Frances. He was one of the Newbould Bros. According to an advertisement, John Newbould & Co was established in 1840. It operated from Eyre Street after 1856 and advertised in Birmingham and Sheffield directories as ‘late Newbould Bros’, Eyre Street, selling table cutlery and Bowie, dagger, and spear knives.
