Albert Ibbotson (1876-1948) was the son of Joseph, a file forger, and his wife, Annie. By the age of fourteen, Albert was a spoon and fork filer. In 1919, he was working in Bailey Lane and four years later advertised from Central Works as the ‘actual manufacturer’ of stainless table cutlery and electro-plate goods.
