Robert Ibbotson (1839-1896), an ivory dealer and cutter, was the son of George Ibbotson and his wife, Eliza née Driver. George Ibbotson was born in Bradfield and by 1841 was working as an ivory cutter in Charles Street (the Driver family cut ivory in the same street). In 1861, George employed two boys in Coalpit Lane. In 1862, his address was Beehive Works, Duke Street. He died on 12 August 1869 at Bole Hill, Crookes, leaving under £1,500. He was buried in the General Cemetery. ....
