Henry Hunter was born in Sheffield in about 1815. His early life is unknown, but he made table knives – the same speciality as Alfred Hunter and Michael Hunter. Hunter’s wife was named Ann (born c.1810) – presumably Miss Ann Radford, who married Henry Hunter, ‘cutler’, at St Peter’s Church in 1836 (Sheffield Independent, 9 April 1836).
