The leading light was Frederick George Bishop (1876-1956), who was the son of William Bishop (a silversmith on his own account) and his wife, Sarah. The family lived at Meersbrook. Frederick was trained as a silversmith and by 1911 was listed as an electro-plate manufacturer at 87 Eyre Street. By 1919, he had formed Bishop & Froggatt, electro-platers, 34 Furnival Street.
