This firm apparently appeared in about 1918. Based in Holly Street, it was a partnership between Mrs Gertrude Brown (of Stumperlowe Avenue) and Leeds-born George Arthur Clark (1865-1940), who lived in Totley. Presumably, this was the Gertrude Brown, who registered a silver mark in 1890 from Globe Works, Penistone Road. She was the wife of Henry John Brown, who was a nickel silver caster.
