Henry George Hall (c.1816-1855) was enumerated in the Census (1841) as a ‘merchant’, living with his wife Mary and with John Broadhead and his wife. Broadhead was a scissors manufacturer and the two formed a partnership (Broadhead & Hall). By 1845, Hall was trading as Henry George Hall & Co, a pen, pocket, and table knife manufacturer, based first at Washington Works (see George Wostenholm) and then in Norfolk Lane.
