John Gillott was a table knife manufacturer, who was listed in Broad Lane between 1828 and 1841. Directories show that he made (or factored) table and bread knives, scissors, spoons and forks; and was also a shopkeeper. His son, John, worked as a warehouseman – presumably in the family firm.
