Probably this firm had its roots in Thorpe, Turner & Co, which by 1816 was a merchant in Orchard Street. The partners were William Thorpe, Thomas Turner, William Rowley, and Hall Overend. The latter was presumably Sheffield’s Quaker surgeon Hall Overend (1772-1831). Possibly, the ‘Turner’ was Thomas Turner. Another cutler involved with these men was George Addy.
