This firm was owned by Naftali [Naftoli] Krausz (1895-1975), who was born into a Hungarian Jewish family. His parents were Shimon and Sarah; his brother was Armin Krausz, who partnered Harris Miller. Before the outbreak of the Second World War, Armin helped Naftali set up home in Sheffield. In 1939, he was living at Havelock Street and described his occupation as cutlery manufacturer (Register of England & Wales, 1939).
