Thomas Elliott (sometimes spelled ‘Elliot’) was a merchant and table knife manufacturer, who was first listed in Townhead Cross in 1816. The business then moved to Garden Street by the early 1820s (where a Thomas Elliot was also listed as grocer and flour dealer). In 1825, merchants and cutlers Thomas Elliot, Thomas Elliot Jun., and John Elliot dissolved their partnership. ‘Sons’ was dropped from the company name and Thomas Elliott was listed alone as a merchant and manufacture....
