In 1976, Sheffield-born Ronald James Carr (1945-2102) – a production engineer at Sheffield Smelting Co – began making jewellery. In 1977, during the Queen’s Silver Jubilee, he incorporated his business to make silver products and commemorative pieces. By the end of the 1980s, he had workforce of a hundred and in the following decade established a silver fabrication department.
