John Morton, table knife manufacturer, advertised in 1860 from Earl Works, Earl Street and Porter Street. Morton also advertised as agent for washing machines and churns. This was apparently John Morton, a table knife hafter, who was living in Earl Street when the Census was taken in 1851. Morton was listed in in Porter Street in 1861 (when his residential address in the Census had changed to Arundel Street).
