Nicholson & Loy manufactured pen and pocket knives and first appeared in a Sheffield directory in 1816 at Allen Street. A later address was Radford Street, though this may have been the same location, as these streets were connected. The dissolution document in 1824 revealed that the partners were John Nicholson and William Loy. Presumably, they were not the John Nicholson in Pond Street, or the William Loy in Love Street and Westbar. Suggesting an alternative, however, is difficult. &....
