Frank Turton (1886-1979) was the son of William (a scissors grinder) and his wife, Elizabeth. Frank began making scissors in the interwar years at Solly Street. In 1948, Turton’s became private limited company (capital £2,000) at 72 Arundel Street (see W. & S. Butcher). Frank’s son, Victor (1919-1964), later became manager until his untimely death.
