In the 1780s, Clough & Taylor was listed as a factors in High Street. The partners were John Clough and Thomas Taylor. The enterprise became Clough, Taylor & Rutherford, with the addition of Thomas Rutherford. A dissolution notice was issued in 1796, which stated that John Clough had died.
