John Bagshaw (c.1774-1857) was born at Ecclesall. He partnered George Rawlins, as a scissors maker, but this was dissolved in 1820. He was next a fine scissors (and table knife and razor) manufacturer and factor in Button Lane. The firm became ‘& Sons’, though in 1827 the partnership between John, George, and Joseph Bagshaw ended.
