Charles Parkin was an ironmonger and scissors smith, who was born in Sheffield and spent most of his career in Broad Lane, at the corner of Newcastle Street. He was listed in directories by 1860. Parkin’s trade card in Sheffield Archives illustrates tailor’s shears and stated that he manufactured all kinds of steel scissors.
