Alfred Osborne (1800-1879) was baptised at Howard Street Chapel, the son of Thomas Osborne and his wife, Elizabeth. Alfred became a stag and sham stag haft and scale cutter. He occupied his father’s workshops at 10 Smithfield. He built up a prosperous business, which by 1861 employed five men. He died on 26 April 1879, aged 79, and left a personal estate under £2,000.
