Charles Edward Nixon
Charles Edward Nixon (1851-1920) was born at Great Ponton, Lincolnshire, and by 1861 was living in Grantham with his widowed mother, Ruth. He became a draper’s assistant in Newark, but by 1880 he was operating St Wolfran’s Works, Rockingham Street. He registered silver marks in 1880 and 1881. He lived in Sale Hill with his mother, and employed three men, two boys, and two women. Between 1886 and 1897, his works address was in Brookhill and Napier Street. He registered another silver ....
