Thomas Morton
Thomas Morton (c.1789-1860) was a scissors manufacturer, who was first listed in Eyre Street in 1818. His address over the next four decades was Eyre Street (or sometimes Duke Street), where he continued to conduct his scissors business (employing six men in 1851), but was also a coach builder and offered gigs and phaetons to hire. He died in Carver Street on 3 January 1860, aged 81, and was buried in St Mary’s churchyard, Bramall. ....
