Joseph Bullous Jones (1877-1940) was the son of Thomas ‘Tom’ Jones (1856-1917) and his wife, Harriet. Tom was a spring-knife cutler, whose descendants had been cutlers for four generations. Joseph’s first job was errand boy for a surgical instrument maker. In 1901, Jones Bros, a surgical cutler, was listed at Exchange Works, Egerton Street.
