The Hallamshire Silversmiths’ Company
In 1904, this firm registered a silver mark ‘HSCo’ from Nimrod Works, Eldon Street. Before the First World War, it was listed as an electro-plate manufacturer in Norfolk Lane, using the trade name ‘ARGENT’. James Barclay later acquired the name (and that of B. Grayson & Son) and traded at Argent Works, Norfolk Lane, then Argent Works, Rockingham Street. Barclay was bankrupt in 1952. ....
