Robert Deakin (1811-1883) was the son George Deakin and his wife, Elizabeth. He was baptised at Queen Street (Independent) Chapel. He trained as a merchant’s clerk and by 1851, when he was living at 83 Arundel Street with his brother, George, he was a ‘factor’.
